meet ann

Ann Jackson is the Co-Founder of Thrive Fitness, and is located at Thrive South and North. As a Certified Personal Trainer for over 15 years, Ann specializes in helping clients find a comfort zone in their workouts while also challenging them to extend their abilities in becoming strong and fit.

Ann is also a Certified Functional Nutritionist, and offers 1-on-1 Nutrition Coaching that focuses on hormone health, sports performance, peri-menopause, whole food preparation and education. When Ann is not at the gym, you will most likely find her on 2 wheels – cycling around Ontario. Her commitment to health and wellness has been showcased as a competitor in the 2011 Boston Marathon and the Canadian Mountain Trail Running Championships in 2015. Ann is currently completing her Registered Holistic Nutrition designation.

Steve Coons is the Co-Founder of Thrive Fitness, and is located at Thrive South and North. As a Registered Kinesiologist for over 20 years, Steve specializes in coaching each individual to maximize their ability and to assist them in working through challenges and obstacles using an optimistic coaching style. Steve is also an STR Practitioner, and offers this form of manual hands-on therapy to help reduce muscle stiffness, enhance movement and recovery.

In addition to Thrive, Steve also teaches part-time in the Faculty of Business at Humber Institute of Advanced Learning & Technology. Away from Thrive, Steve enjoys cycling and working on his own fitness as well as spending time with family and friends.

Meet Hannah – Registered Kinesiologist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS). Hannah is located at Thrive South.

She is the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for our Athlete Training Program, with a focus on providing athletes with a sport and position-specific plan to help them achieve their performance goals. Hannah also works with Personal Training clients, and coaches several Group Workouts. In her spare time, Hannah enjoys reading, being physically active, and finding new music.

Leeanne Howland is a Certified Group Fitness Instructor and coaches Group Workouts at Thrive South. Leeanne has been instructing group workouts for the past 4 years, after many years of dedicated training as a Thrive Fitness client. Leeanne excels at helping people realize their fitness potential in a group setting; her biggest thrill is seeing progression and improvements in her clients. In her spare time, Leeanne enjoys keeping active, reading and spending time with family.

Sandra Lagler is a CFP Certified Personal Trainer, and trains out of the Thrive South location. Sandra enthusiastically helps people find an effective starting point in their fitness journey and then challenging them gradually to reach that next level. Sandra is an avid cyclist – both road and mountain, and also, spent many years training for road and trail running races. Sandra also enjoys spending time in the weight room and travelling, with her bike, to European destinations for cycling adventures. When Sandra is not at the gym, she loves to spend time hiking and for downtime, spending time in cafes and reading.
